Scholarships

An investment in scholarships is an investment in the future of Derry Area School District, our community, and society as a whole. Scholarships provide opportunity to future business leaders, agriculturalists, student-athletes and artists that could influence the world. By donating toward our scholarships, you will help provide an opportunity for an individual beyond their grade school career. Below are the four categories of scholarship that you can make a contribution toward.

Academic Scholarships

This scholarship will be awarded to a top academic performer of the Derry Area School District. This student will be required to complete a one page letter describing their academic and career plans.

  • The student must have a GPA of 3.75 or higher as a Derry Area School District student.

  • The student must complete one year at a college/university and have a GPA of 3.50 or higher.

  • The student must send all first year transcripts to the Derry Area School District Foundation to verify that successful completion of their first year and the qualifying GPA.

Agriculture Scholarships

This scholarship will be awarded to a top academic performer of the Derry Area School District Agriculture and Horticulture Department. This student will be required to complete a one page letter describing their academic and career plans.

  • The student must have a GPA of 3.25 or higher as a Derry Area School District student.

  • The student must complete one year at a college/university in an agriculture of horticulture related program.

  • The student must send all first year transcripts to the Derry Area School District Foundation to verify that successful completion of their first year and the qualifying GPA.

Art Scholarships

This scholarship will be awarded to a top academic performer of the Derry Area School District Fine Arts Department. This student will be required to complete a one page letter describing their academic and performance accomplishments as well as their future plans related to studying music.

  • The student must have a GPA of 3.25 or higher as a Derry Area School District student.

  • The student must complete one year at a college/university in a fine arts related program.

  • The student must send all first year transcripts to the Derry Area School District Foundation to verify that successful completion of their first year and the qualifying GPA.

Athletic Scholarships

This scholarship will be awarded to a top academic and athletic performer of the Derry Area School District. This student will be required to complete a one page letter describing their academic and career plans.

  • The student must have a GPA of 3.25 or higher as a Derry Area School District student.

  • The student must be a three-sport athlete for at least three years.

  • The student must complete one year at a college/university.

  • The student must send all first year transcripts to the Derry Area School District Foundation to verify that successful completion of their first year and the qualifying GPA.
